ARIADNE

Open science on Algorand. Publish, review and earn reputation in the open, with no paywall and no gatekeeper.

ARIADNE is an open system for publishing science. Publishing an article, reviewing it, voting for it, commenting on it and raising a flag are all public, signed and permanent records on the Algorand blockchain. Anyone can read everything, without an account and without paying.

These pages explain how to use ARIADNE and how it works underneath. ARIADNE currently runs on TestNet, Algorand’s public test network, where ALGO are free. MainNet opens later.

  • Start here: what ARIADNE is, the whole system in five minutes, wallets, the two networks, and your first article step by step.
  • Guides: how to publish, write, add co-authors and new versions, review, earn the Peer-reviewed seal, discuss, flag, claim reputation, link ORCID, get a DOI, search, keep lists, cite and follow.
  • Concepts: why things work the way they do: statuses, reputation, the seal, citations and Thread Score, disputes, costs, what is on the blockchain, storage, identity and privacy.
  • Reference: the exact details: the article header, contract methods and events, the indexer API, fields, networks, the glossary, the protocol specification and the decision log.
  • Run your own: check what ariadne.press shows without trusting it, run an indexer, or host the whole stack.
  • FAQ: short answers to the questions people ask most, with links to the details.
